
Mike’s Experience
- Developed the Leadership for School Change model, based on leadership lessons learned from MLTI and creating schools designed to motivate kids.
- Co-designed and implemented several school change initiatives including creating motivation-focused contract and alternative schools, facilitating change-focused design teams, and co-authoring and supporting the School District of Philadelphia’s $7.5M Magnet School Grant.
- Worked with several schools, districts and organizations to both implement shared leadership and worked toward creating a community shared vision for learning (including a district in Wyoming, regional meetings in Maine, a Maine middle school, and MLTI).
- Authored Moving the Needle: Proven Strategies for (Successfully) Implementing School Change, soon to be published by AMLE.
- Designed and led numerous workshops on shared leadership, design teams, and leadership for school change.
- Led GEAR UP Maine’s Shared Leadership efforts.
